Explanation

The formula for a geometric sequence is:

aₙ = a₁ · rⁿ⁻¹

Where:

  • aₙ = term you want

  • a₁ = first term

  • r = common ratio

  • n = term number

Example:
Find the 5th term if:
a₁ = 3 and r = 2

a₅ = 3 · 2⁴
a₅ = 3 · 16
a₅ = 48
