Explanation

A geometric sequence is a sequence where you multiply or divide by the same number each time.

That number is called the common ratio (r).

Examples:

  • 2, 6, 18, 54, … (multiply by 3)

  • 100, 50, 25, 12.5, … (divide by 2)

How to check:
Divide one term by the previous term:
If the result is always the same → geometric sequence
