What is an inverse relation?

The inverse of a relation is formed by reversing every ordered pair.

Original pair: (x, y)
Inverse pair: (y, x)


Example

Original relation:
{(1,2), (3,4)}

Inverse relation:
{(2,1), (4,3)}


Why inverse relations matter

They show how relationships work in the opposite direction.
