A polynomial function is a function where the rule is a polynomial.

Example:
f(x) = x² − 3x + 2

Key features:

  • The degree tells the shape of the graph

  • Higher degrees create more curves

  • Polynomial graphs are smooth and continuous

Common degrees:

  • Linear → straight line

  • Quadratic → U-shaped curve

  • Cubic → S-shaped curve
