Explanation

Symmetry occurs when a figure matches itself after a transformation.

Types of symmetry:

  1. Line symmetry (reflectional): figure can be reflected over a line and remain unchanged.

  2. Rotational symmetry: figure can be rotated around a point by a certain angle and remain unchanged.

  3. Point symmetry: 180° rotational symmetry around a point.

Real-world examples: butterfly wings, hexagon, star, snowflake.
