Transformations & Congruence

Explanation

Congruence means two shapes have the same size and shape.

  • Rigid transformations (translation, rotation, reflection) are often used to show congruence.

  • Two figures are congruent if you can use rigid transformations to make one match the other exactly.

Example: Triangle ABC is translated and rotated to match triangle DEF → triangles are congruent.
